Welcome to SQLSupport.org
For the love of data, welcome home.

This site exists for anyone who has ever stared down a failed SQL job, a corrupted index, a misfiring stored procedure, or a query plan that looks more like a maze than a map. Whether you're a seasoned DBA or someone just trying to keep their production system from catching fire, you're in the right place.

Tom Nonmacher here, also known by some as the Data Whisperer. I have spent over two decades immersed in the world of data, helping businesses design better systems, optimize performance, and solve the problems nobody else wanted to touch. In 2006, I founded Good Elf Software, building practical software solutions that have helped clients across energy, construction, and manufacturing sectors. I wear a lot of hats, but data is the one that fits best.

Today I find myself working as a Database Architect at Foley & Lardner LLP. Along the way to get here, I have worked with SQL Server, MySQL, DB2, PostgreSQL, and modern platforms like Azure SQL, Microsoft Fabric, and Databricks. From ETL pipelines to AI driven analytics, I have stayed hands on. The things I have learned along the way has been fuel for the articles and tips you will find here, many of which connect to insights I have shared through my LinkedIn profile.

What makes this different
There is no paywall, no sales funnel, just clear advice, T SQL examples, architecture breakdowns, and stories from the trenches. Every article is written from experience, and every post is grounded in real world work.

My goal is to update the blog weekly with new topics as well as make corrections and updates, often referencing problems I have dealt with in production environments. If you want to ask a question, share a problem, or just learn something new, post in the comments. I am here to offer free advice to anyone willing to listen.

Because data needs to be understood and supported
